The traditional St.Agnes Flora dance is held on a wednesday
evening for 4 weeks during the summer. Headed by the local
silver band the children from several local schools perform
the traditional dance around the village ending in the grounds
of a local hotel for refreshments. The entertainment continues
here and the judging is done for the carnival queen.

The Proceedings The Helston Floral Dance, more properly
called the Furry Dance, is one of the oldest surviving
customs in the Country, and is a may day celebration to
the coming of spring and the passing of winter. Its origins
are thought to be in pagan times.
